Getting Visitors To Your Site

In my last post, I gave you an overview of how Adsense works. The key to making real money with Adsense though is that you need to get lots of visitors to your site. I want to talk about a few ways you can make this happen.

The first thing you need to consider is that you want visitors who will find your site relevant! If people somehow find your site about fishing rods, when really they were interested in marine wildlife, you probably won't get many clicks on your ads. The trick here is to use what is called your 'keyword' when you set up your site, and when you promote your site. Using the fishing rod example, you might want to call your site www.fishingrodguide.com, and you would want to make sure you use the term 'fishing rod' in at least some of your posts and titles.

The other trick for making money with Adsense is to promote your site. Promoting your site means finding a way to get other sites on the net to create links back to your own site. People will see these links and click them to find a way back to your site, so you increase your exposure to a wider audience. There are lots of ways to get these links. You could swap links with other bloggers, or write your own articles and submit them to different sites, getting 'paid' with a link to your site.

The final thing to consider to make money with Adsense is that you ned to choose the topic, or 'keyword' for your site carefully. I will look at this in a bit more detail with my next post!
